Quick start
Your First 15 Minutes
Update the game, create or join an online session, and test the built-in voice or text system before your group leaves the opening area. The host chooses a two-player, three-player or four-plus world version. Treat that selection as the minimum group expected for the session, not a hard maximum.
- Pick one landmark as the regroup point.
- Share radios, maps and carrying duties.
- Use Join Codes for friends on other platforms.
- Agree whether the group wants hints or full solutions.

Multiplayer
How Many Players Can Play Big Walk?
The official range is 2–12 online players. A focused pair can complete the adventure, while larger groups turn carrying, scouting and communication into a much noisier coordination problem.
Can You Play Big Walk Solo?
No. Big Walk is designed around cooperative problems and officially supports a minimum of two players. The world expects one person to observe, hold, carry or signal while another acts elsewhere.
Is Big Walk Couch Co-op?
No same-screen or split-screen mode is listed by the developer. Big Walk is online co-op, so each player joins from a supported computer or console. If friends are in the same room, separate systems and headsets still give the intended communication behavior.
Does Big Walk Have Crossplay?
Yes. Cross-platform online play is an official feature. When normal friend lists do not connect across systems, the host can create a short Join Code and share it with the group.
Platforms
Where Can You Play?
| Platform | Status | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Windows and Mac | Available via Steam | Online co-op and crossplay supported |
| PlayStation 5 | Available | Online play may require the platform's multiplayer entitlement |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Available | This is the supported Nintendo version |
| PlayStation 4 | Not listed | The official platform list names PS5, not PS4 |
| Original Nintendo Switch | Not listed | The official release is for Switch 2 |
Buying the game
Price, Game Pass and PlayStation Plus
Regional storefront prices and subscription catalogs can change. Use the official Steam, PlayStation or Nintendo store page for the current amount in your region. Do not assume a launch promotion or subscription inclusion will remain permanent.
Navigation
How Big Is the Map?
There is no single official square-kilometer figure that describes the island well. Its practical size comes from travel time, elevation, gated routes and the fact that voices fade. Unlocking the map room gives the group a shared coordinate reference, but landmarks and callouts remain faster than reading coordinates during a live puzzle.
Name the landmark first, then direction and color: “east of the red tower, below the green frame.” That callout survives even when one player is not holding the map.
Completion
Trophy Guide and Big Shiny
For a first playthrough, prioritize the main route and note any puzzle rewards the group leaves behind. Once the ending is secure, return with a dedicated checklist for remaining challenges, appearance unlocks and the Big Shiny achievement. This preserves the discovery-driven first walk while preventing a late collectible sweep from becoming guesswork.
- 01
Finish the opening and unlock navigation
A usable map makes every later cleanup route more efficient.
- 02
Record unfinished structures
Write down tower color, nearby landmark and the missing interaction.
- 03
Keep a shared completion list
One list prevents multiple players from checking the same area.
- 04
Use a spoiler guide only for the final gap
Search by the puzzle's strongest visual or audio clue instead of reading every solution.
