The official version-history page lists 1.4.7 as the current published entry on August 16, 2026. Its notes cover clearer connection and moderation warnings, improved host stability, improved reliability in the friends' game browser, and a fix for short password entry on systems using an on-screen keyboard.
These are maintenance and multiplayer-reliability changes rather than new island content. Check the version number on every system when crossplay fails, because players on mismatched builds may not connect correctly even when their Join Code is current.
Is Big Walk still in development?
Yes in the maintenance sense, but the core game is released and sold as a complete start-to-finish adventure. The official FAQ describes a handcrafted journey with an ending, and the store listings do not label it Early Access. Stability updates do not mean the existing ending is unfinished.
House House's August developer AMA said that making Big Walk took six years. When asked about new areas and additional content, the developers said they were not sure what the game's future would look like and needed a good rest before thinking about what comes next.
