Big Walk Nintendo support is for Nintendo Switch 2, not the original Nintendo Switch. The official eShop listing confirms a 3.9 GB digital download, TV/tabletop/handheld modes, 2–12 online players, crossplay and Nintendo Switch Online features.
Which Nintendo console runs Big Walk?
The system field on Nintendo's official product page names Nintendo Switch 2. House House's FAQ and press kit list the same platform alongside Windows, Mac and PlayStation 5. Neither source lists the original Switch as supported.
Do not read “Switch 2” as a second version that also includes a Switch 1 build. It is the hardware name and the only Nintendo version currently announced. Buying from the Switch 2 eShop does not grant compatibility with an original Switch console.
Player count and online requirement
Nintendo lists online play for 2–12 players. The product page also shows “single system (1),” but the publisher notice directly clarifies that Big Walk has no single-player mode and is entirely designed around cooperative multiplayer. One person can load into the world, but cannot meaningfully complete the adventure alone.
Nintendo Switch Online is associated with online play and Save Data Cloud on the listing. Each player should confirm their own membership and account eligibility before organizing a session.
Crossplay with Steam and PS5
Switch 2 players can join friends on the supported computer and PlayStation versions. When platform friends do not appear automatically, the host generates a short Join Code and shares it outside the game. Big Walk does not include public matchmaking with strangers.
Crossplay does not change save ownership. The host remains the keeper of the world, must start first, and disconnects everyone else when the host session ends. Choose the most reliable regular player as host before the group invests in tower progress.
Download size and play modes
The Nintendo listing gives a file size of 3.9 GB and supports TV, tabletop and handheld play. Big Walk also supports the Switch 2 mouse mode, according to the official FAQ, alongside standard controller input and remappable controls.
Screen languages include American English, Japanese, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Korean, Russian, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese and Polish. The game uses built-in voice and text chat for player communication.
